Is the murder trial live good? What are the reviews?

Welcome to The Murder Trial Live, I would like to begin by saying how pleased I am to be able to welcome you back to our live show, the first tour back since 2020 and the Covid pandemic. In 2019 and 2020 this show was evolving to become a huge success following two features on BBC and interest in the tour concept by a number of TV production companies and overseas producers. March 2020 saw the Covid lockdown and with that came the complete halt of the planned tour. As a company, we lost over £1M in Covid and received just over £60,000 in total in Government support. This left us with a black hole of £940,000 which we have had to claw back over the past 3 years. Today the company is in a different place, with a new management team, a new operations crew and a whole new raft of exciting show concepts lined up. I would like to thank all of our legacy customers for being patient with us and I am pleased to welcome you back to this brand-new state-of-the-art arena for the event you will experience tonight.

The show you’re about to take part in was constructed to convey the evil that humans are capable of inflicting on each other. Modern history has created some monstrous characters and psychologists agree that many more walk amongst us. The gay community has twice been attacked by sadistic individuals who have tortured, killed and eaten their victims. History tells us… it will happen again.

Written and delivered by real barristers you yourself will experience the weight of being a juror, we ask you to afford the evidence the seriousness it deserves and try the case on the facts alone. You will then be asked to reach a verdict that you can leave here tonight having satisfied your moral conscious. Only if you are sure, should the verdict be delivered as guilty. If you cannot be sure, then the verdict must be not guilty.

This show is written and delivered with the lives of all those across the country who are missing and yet to return home in mind. Our thoughts are with them and their relatives…

At show pricing...

Bar and Food Prices

If you are a frequent attendee of events you will be familiar with event based pricing. Event based pricing explains why touring shows have to charge more for products which you may find cheaper else where.

Firstly...

As a touring show we operate seasonally which means we have large times of the year when we are closed or not out on the road running shows. This means our income is only being generated for  70% of the year compared to a permanent establishment which is open all year around.

We employ all of our highly skilled cast and crew, yes all of our crew are employed by us, they are employed all year round and we still have wages to pay when there are no shows operating.

Transport Costs...

We have to transport all of our equipment all over the UK on a fleet of lorries and sleeper coaches. This means diesel. Diesel now is very expensive and we have to cover the costs of this through ticket sales and on site revenue.

Refrigeration & Waste

As we only pop up in some locations, we have to keep all of our ingredients chilled in refrigerated artics, as of 2022 the Government removed red diesel which means we operate off pump price, yes the amount you pay to fill your car is the same price per litre we pay to power the generators that run the site. We also have increased waste because we can't keep ingredients that we don't sell that weekend so we have to offset that against other income to be able to offer some perishable items. All of the waste generated is dealt with privately, we hire in temporary waste solutions at each event site which recycle most of our onsite rubbish this has to be transported and hence more expensive, toilets, tele handlers etc are all picked up and dropped off each week which mounts up in cost, these costs are spread into ticket sales and on site revenue.

So whenever you visit your local theatre, concert venue, music hall, touring show or festival please bear in mind that the background they operate against is not the same as your local pub or corner shop. Their operating costs (and ours) are much much higher and this is covered in the retail price of the goods they offer.

Our menus are available before you arrive so you plan and budget for any drinks and snacks you might wish to enjoy during the show. Please note bag searches are in in operation and bringing you own food or drink in any format on site is prohibited.
